“Stay over” thank you card

Hi friends,

Today I found some time to play along with the wonderful crafters at “freshly made sketches”. Its a cute sketch challenge from Lesley (Always Playing with Paper) this week. Go along to Lesley’s blog as she makes such amazing things. I follow her posts closely and love everything about it!

But, back to freshly made sketches. I made this card for a friend of mine because she lend me her house for the day’s I teach at the University in Chicoutimi. I chose one of the very old stamps I told you about already. This one represents a bed with a bear hanging over the foot board. I think this stamp looks adorable! However, it’s a bit small to be my focal image on this card, so I decided to use it as background stamp to create a patterned paper. The sentiment is embossed with gold embossing powder, all the edges are coloured with crumb cake classic ink and I dyed the twine in cajun craze with my re-inkers. This is what the finished product looks like:

Oh yes, I added some faux stitching to the left side of my very vanilla card stock and stamped the river rock card stock with the wood grain stamp (loooove this stamp by the way!). And here is the sketch I used:

Just click on the image to get you to the challenge post at freshly made sketches!

Hope you liked it!

See you on Wednesday!

  1. What a great card – clean and stylish …. I love your creative background stamping and neutral colour palette. Love the coloured twine …. I often forget that we can recolour ribbon, twine etc …. thanks for the inspiration.
